Fresco-Le-Raye
Fresco was named by reader Alan Shaw, Holt Road, Liverpool. Alan received a giant plastic warthog for his pains (sorry about your pains Alan).

Fresco-Le-Raye became a hero of the strip, with his own fan club. Fresco became a superstar, with fan mail, appearances on the front cover of the paper, even having chapters of his book published. Of all the characters, he was one of the favourites and best-remembered. At one stage he even had his own problem corner and he appeared in a seasonal pantomine.
On the late 1970s, JEO tried to sell a daily Fresco-Le-Raye strip. Some of these rare items can be seen here.
