John and Yoko Lennon In the issues of DISC dated August 7th and 14th, 1971, I was in the middle of one of the several "Alice in Wonderland" spoofs that I did over the years. These two episodes featured Tweedlennon and Tweedlono. A few days later, I received at DISC the attached postcard. In case you can't read the reverse, it says: It was rubber-stamped "Tittenhurst Park, Ascot", which was the home of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Your guess is as good as mine as to which of them actually wrote the card! Anyway, Gavin Petrie, the Disc editor, was very excited. I was quite chuffed myself! I was happy to let the Lennons have the originals for nothing (no wonder I'm not rich) and despatched them without delay. Gavin, however, insisted that I sent a covering letter which suggested that, in return, John might write and draw an episode of E C Ryder (Gavin promised that I would still get paid for it!). Personally, I thought it was a bit of a cheek, though I can't say which bit. However, I did as instructed. I'm beginning to think he's NEVER going to reply!
Lennon's writing?
"Dear E.C.Ryder Any chance of getting the original work of genius in Aug 16th Disc? We are two humble grovelling fans who can hardly raise a pen to ask. We'd really like it, if you'd be so kind (I guess we'd pay if we have  to!) Lots of love from your humble admirers, Jock and Yoni Lennonism of Ascot Berks"
