Fresco-Le-Raye Fresco was named by reader Alan Shaw, Holt Road, Liverpool after an appeal for a name in episode 93. Alan received a giant plastic warthog for his pains (sorry about your pains Alan). Fresco-Le-Raye became a hero of the strip, with his own fan club. Fresco became a superstar, with fan mail, appearances on the front cover of the paper, even having chapters of his book published and cards. Of all the characters, he was one of the favourites and best-remembered. At one stage he even had his own problem corner and he appeared in a seasonal pantomine. On the late 1970s, JEO tried to sell a daily Fresco-Le-Raye strip. Some of these rare items can be seen here. Fresco was, of course, also the superhero Superdinosaur.
